More Faith Of Warriors – In Honor Of CS1 Regina Clark, For Erick Brockway

Tweet This!

I have taken to tweeting. While there, I ran into Erick Brockway who posts at Redstate. Erick has a picture of himself in full combat gear as his gravatar. Erick and I got into an exchange and along the way, I  pointed him to “The Faith Of Warriors” which I posted both here and at Redstate

As I mentioned in that post, I never had the honor to serve.  It is one of those regrets I have never been able to dismiss. Especially in light of the tremendous sacrifice and service shown me and my son over the last 55 years of my life and 16 of his very young life. I could never begin to express to the men and women of our magnificent military just how deeply I treasure them as fellow countrymen.

In the spirit of the post, I thanked Erick for his service. The response I got back was typical, but it still caught me by surprise. Erick sent me back a link to a tribute of a fallen comrade, CS1 Regina Clark that he had posted at Redstate. He also sent me a better picture. His simple request was for me to post this picture at the local Veterans Memorial on Memorial Day. As is their nature, he thought not of himself but of his fallen comrade. So I commit to Erick to honor his wishes and I also honor CS1 Regina Clark here. May her loss always be remembered by those of us she served without even knowing our names.  May those that loved her bear the comfort of knowing that she gave the “fullest measure of devotion” in service of the ideals and principles of freedom. There is no greater gift any of us could ever receive.
