We actually do not want anyone to object to this. anytime we can cut the salary of an elected or appointed politician, that is a good thing. This is just for your amusement. Like Hillary, it is actually against the Constitution for Senator Ken Salazar to ascend to the post of Secretary of the Interior. The offending provision of the Constitution, Article I, Section 6,  which says:

“No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time.” Emoluments refers to compensation.”

Anyway, please let this go.  Salazar is Harry Reid’s lap dog.  They know that he will have a hard time retaining the Senate seat he holds so this move is strategic politically for Democrats.  Let him be Obama’s lap dog instead, at least we will save the taxpayers over  $ 50,000.00 during his term.  Lord knows we are going to need it. At least though Salazar has a real Cabinet appointment..

It is interesting though that Obama, a professor of Constitutional law before he was the vaunted “Community Organizer” made these appointments without understanding their illegality.  What other mistakes will he make based on his poor remembrance of the U.S. Constitution.  Curiously, I have not seen the:

“Pardon Hillary Clinton From Criminal Prosecution Act.”
