Big Three Bridge Loan To Nowhere – Bailout For UAW

UAW Head Ron Gettlefinger Addresses The Failed Auto Bailout Vote In Senate

The first legislation we need to worry about actually happened via Executive Authority (which we are skeptical of). President Bush’s “bridge loan” to the auto makers is more actually a bailout of the UAW pension and retiree benefit funds. The reality is that the Big Three have been making mistakes across the board in their business model for decades and all those mistakes have finally come home to roost, including their foolish acceptance of Union contracts that placed them at a severe disadvantage.

The Presidents action merely kicked the ball down into the Democrat end of the field. The terms that the UAW are so vociferously protesting at this time are so vague and non-specific that they cannot possibly address the issue of viability. That is also irrelevant in that the Government has no role in deciding winners and losers in free markets or they are not free markets.

There will surely be Democrat attempts to expand and fool wit the terms to pay off the UAW for their contributions of money and manpower in getting Obama elected. To do that they intend to boorrow money in the name of your children and grandchildren and by theft, give it to the UAW. I am sorry, but there is no legitimate method for the Government to be involved other that through the legal process of bankruptcy as provided for in the Constitution.

So this is our first notice. We are still in the process of setting up the site and I am sure very few people will see this in the next few week anyway. In the meantime, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
